By now, many Eugene and Springfield, Oregon residents are beginning to understand who we are and what we do. We've been hauling customers' junk to donation, recycling, and to the Lane county dump facilities since June of 2016. We started out very small. We only had one old 1998 Penske moving box van. That had been bought and used by other companies and eventually to a private owner. We bought it from a lady that lived in a tiny town just a few miles North East of Lincoln City called Otis, Oregon. We found her listing on Craigslist and payed her $2,100 to take it off her hands. It wasn't in the best of shape, it had over 297,000 miles, and had some repairs it needed before it was street legal. After spending about $800 to get it up to par we were excited to get to work! Only problem, no one knew who we were! Junk Munkiez had a goal this last holiday season. To help those in need by bringing the community together. From the 22nd of November til the 24th of December 2018 Junk Munkiez offered free service to those in need! Normally, belongings that are no longer wanted but are still in good condition are donated to accepting donation facilities but we had an idea. What if we could gather a list of names of individuals around Springfield and Eugene, Oregon that were looking for particular goods this holiday season and see if anybody else around town was willing to donate those needed items to them. Junk Munkiez would be the middle man by picking up and delivering them for free. We started the project by publishing and promoting a video on Facebook about our plans and if anyone was interested.
